Yarn Maze

'To Spin a yarn' - To tell a story, especially a long drawn-out or totally fanciful one with lots of twists and turns.

Settle Stories Festival invited Bryony to develop an interactive family maze theme drop-in workshop for the Settle Quakers Meeting House garden during the storytelling festival. Bryony invited members of the public to design, build, play, stroll or just relax inside a colourful maze-themed installation. The pathways and dead ends were decided by whoever picked up a ball of wool and choose their own journey through unravelling their wool with them.

By the end of the day, the public had collaboratively yarn bombed the garden full of colourful twists and turns for families to play in and storytellers to ‘spin a yarn’ in.
